You might already work in sales support or marketing, but equally, you could come from customer service, administration, account management, order processing or another busy office-based role.
Our client is a privately owned manufacturing business based in the Pocklington area. They have a small, friendly office team and are looking for someone to join them as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator to cover maternity leave.
This isn’t a role where you’ll be doing the same thing all day. One minute you might be processing an order or updating a customer, the next you could be preparing a quotation, helping with a LinkedIn post or following up with a potential new customer.
If you’re organised, confident communicating with people and like being the person who helps keep everything running smoothly, this could be a really good fit.
What the Sales and Marketing Coordinator job involves?
You’ll work closely with the sales and commercial team, helping to make sure customers receive a responsive and professional service while also supporting some of the wider sales and marketing activity.
Your day could include processing sales orders, responding to customer emails, providing updates on orders and helping to resolve queries.
You’ll prepare quotations, mainly using established price lists, and help keep customer and prospect information up to date.
There is also a marketing element to the role. You’ll support email activity to prospective customers, make follow-up calls to identify the right contacts within businesses and work with the Commercial Manager to create content for LinkedIn.
You’ll also be one of the main people answering incoming telephone calls and will be trained to operate an AI-enabled automated scanning system.
It’s a genuinely varied position and would suit someone who likes having a mix of customer contact, organisation, administration and marketing in their working day.
What are we looking for?
Your background is less important than the way you work. You’ll need to be organised, reliable and comfortable managing several things at once. You’ll have a professional but friendly telephone manner and be confident communicating with customers and colleagues.
You don’t need to know every system from day one. Training will be provided, so what matters most is that you’re comfortable learning new technology and willing to get stuck in.
Experience within administration, customer service, sales support, order processing, account coordination, marketing support or a similar office-based role could all work well.
Because this is a smaller team, you’ll also need to be someone who is happy to help out where needed rather than being restricted by a rigid job description.
What’s on offer?
The working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8.30am–5.00pm, and Friday, 8.30am–4.00pm.
You’ll receive 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with five days allocated to the Christmas shutdown.
Once you’re fully trained and settled into the role, there is the option to work from home one day per week.
There is free on-site parking and a salary sacrifice pension through NEST.
If you’ve been looking for a varied office-based role where you can use your organisational skills, work closely with customers and get involved in more than just administration, I’d be really interested in hearing from you.
