Mechanical Assembly Technician
Are you a hands-on Technician / Engineer who takes pride in quality workmanship and getting things right first time?
We’re looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to assemble, test and inspect high-quality mechanical and electro-mechanical products. You’ll work from engineering drawings and specifications as part of a skilled, collaborative production team.
Responsibilities
* Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Read and interpret drawings, assembly instructions and BOMs.
* Fit components including frames, pipework, pumps, valves and fabricated assemblies.
* Carry out drilling, tapping, cutting, fitting and bench assembly.
* Install, align and test mechanical components.
* Identify and report build issues, missing parts and quality concerns.
* Complete quality and traceability records accurately.
* Work to production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Support continuous improvement, 5S and waste reduction activities.
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Ideal Skills & Experience
* Previous mechanical assembly or mechanical fitting experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Confident using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment.
* Strong practical engineering skills and attention to detail.
* Commitment to quality and a right-first-time approach.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good understanding of workshop health & safety.
Desirable: Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, hydraulics, pneumatics or pipework, testing/fault-finding, and an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.
Salary
£29,250 - £33,000
Hours
Monday to Friday (Flexi Time)
