Cala Consulting are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer for their client based in Chester.
The company & the opportunity:
Working as part of the maintenance team the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery, equipment and systems are operating efficiently and effectively to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
Key Duties:
* Carry out routine and unplanned maintenance work and respond to equipment faults;
* Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and machinery and arrange procurement of fixtures, fittings and components as required;
* Conduct quality inspections on jobs;
* Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
* Monitor and control maintenance costs;
* Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs;
* Work closely with Senior Management to improve health and safety policies and procedures;
* Work as part of a team to ensure the continuous flow of production and operations;
Criteria:
* Time-served Mechanical Engineer or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in a mechanical maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
* Strong practical experience with mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics
* Basic working knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, CNC, or PC-controlled equipment desirable (mechanical focus remains key)
* Able to work independently, manage workload effectively, and prioritise maintenance activities
* Proactive, reliable team player with flexibility to support business needs when required
