Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Hounslow on a daily supply basis.

This is a great opportunity if you are looking for flexible work, want to gain further experience within secondary education, or enjoy working with young people without the commitment of a long-term placement.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when the regular teacher is absent and supervise students while they complete pre-prepared lessons and activities.

You will be responsible for:

Supervising whole classes across a range of subjects

Following lesson plans and instructions provided by teaching staff

Ensuring students remain focused, engaged and on task

Managing classroom behaviour confidently and consistently

Supporting students with their learning where appropriate

Taking and recording attendance

Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate member of staff

Maintaining a safe, positive and respectful learning environment

You will not be expected to plan or mark lessons, but you will need to be confident leading a classroom independently.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for reliable and confident candidates who:

Have experience working with secondary-aged children or young people

Are confident managing a classroom

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

Can follow instructions and deliver pre-prepared work effectively

Are reliable, punctual and professional

Can adapt quickly to different schools and classroom environments

Have a genuine interest in supporting young people's education

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role would be beneficial.

To be eligible to work in schools through Tradewind Recruitment, you will need to provide the relevant safeguarding and recruitment documentation, including:

An up-to-date CV

Proof of Right to Work in the UK

Enhanced DBS certificate suitable for working with children, or willingness to obtain one

Two suitable professional references

Relevant identification documents

Evidence of relevant qualifications or training where applicable

Any required safeguarding documentation or training

Additional checks or documentation may be required depending on your circumstances and the school's requirements.
