How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Platinum Travel Recruitment are collaborating with a fabulous and forward thinking travel company who are now seeking an experienced Cruise Business Development Manager to join its supportive and busy team.

    The ideal Cruise Business Development Manager shall drive sales through business development, member engagement, product and marketing activity.

    The role will focus on increasing member penetration, developing new business, strengthening member and supplier relationships, and identifying opportunities to increase enquiries, bookings and profitability.

    Really exciting role for a sales driven cruise professional with business development experience.

    Cruise Business Development Manager Duties:

    * Drive member penetration and new business, converting non-trading and low-volume members into active customers.

    * Build strong relationships and understanding their needs and identifying opportunities to increase sales and repeat business.

    * Represent the brand at industry events, support training initiatives and work closely with Sales, Product and Marketing to deliver commercial growth.

    * Coordinate and support the Business Partner with new cruise training, as well as ship visits, fam trips and other product initiatives.

    * Work closely with Sales, Product and Marketing to develop and promote relevant, commercially focused cruise offers and campaigns.

    * Support website, social media and member communications when required.

    Cruise Business Development Manager Essential Requirements:

    * Experience in business development, account management or sales within cruise is essential.

    * Strong knowledge of the cruise industry, travel agent environment and supplier landscape.

    * Proven ability to build relationships, identify opportunities and deliver commercial results.

    * Confident representing a business at events and industry functions.

    * Experience delivering or supporting training, presentations or workshops.

    * Excellent communication, influencing and collaboration skills.
