Supply Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join a busy service supporting victims of domestic violence and abuse.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide high-quality, independent and trauma-informed support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse who may be at risk of harm.
You will assess individual needs and risks, develop appropriate safety and support plans, advocate on behalf of victims and survivors, and work closely with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
The role will involve managing a caseload within an appropriate supervision framework, with responsibility for cases of varying complexity. You will also contribute to the development and delivery of Barnet's Domestic Abuse Support Hub (BDASH), supporting the Council's wider approach to domestic abuse intervention.
Essential Requirements
✔ Previous IDVA experience is essential
✔ Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience working in an IDVA or closely related domestic abuse support role.
✔ Right to Work in the UK (Passport, Visa, Share Code etc.)
✔ Level 3 regulated qualification in supporting victims of domestic abuse, such as SafeLives IDVA training or an equivalent recognised qualification
✔ Valid DBS Certificate
✔ Strong knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse legislation and safeguarding frameworks, including the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, Children Act 1989 and Care Act 2014.
✔ Knowledge of civil, family and criminal justice processes, including protective orders and special measures.
✔ Experience using risk assessment tools such as DASH and undertaking effective safety planning.
✔ A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and the intersectional needs of victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
✔ Experience of working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
