Principal EICA Engineer

Lead the Delivery of Critical Water Infrastructure Projects as a Principal EICA Engineer!

Our Client has a requirement for a Principal EICA Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract and permanent basis in the North of England.

Role Purpose:

Provide technical leadership across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Lead the design and delivery of complex electrical engineering solutions.
Support project bids, technical strategy and engineering excellence initiatives.
Mentor and develop engineering teams.
Deliver safe, innovative, compliant and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Take ownership of electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Role Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate the delivery of complex electrical engineering designs.
Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
Develop innovative and practical engineering solutions.
Ensure designs are safe, compliant, sustainable and cost-effective.
Produce, review and approve calculations, specifications, reports and design documentation.
Support major bids and project delivery strategies.
Maintain engineering governance and quality assurance standards.
Manage technical delivery balancing programme, cost, quality and resources.
Identify and manage technical risks throughout project delivery.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers and project teams.
Mentor engineers and designers to support capability development.
Promote continuous improvement, safety and engineering excellence.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (BEng, MEng or equivalent).
Significant experience delivering electrical engineering designs within the UK water and wastewater sector.
Strong understanding of electrical systems associated with water and sewage treatment facilities.
Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering design projects.
Knowledge of LV and HV power distribution, motor control centres, standby generation, power systems and industrial installations.
Ability to develop practical, efficient and economical engineering solutions.
Good understanding of related disciplines including mechanical, civil, process engineering and project management.
Strong appreciation of automation, control and instrumentation systems (EICA).
Excellent technical judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to present technical proposals confidently to clients and stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills with a commitment to quality, safety and project delivery.
Desirable

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
Experience as a technical reviewer, approver or signatory.
Strong knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations, including BS 7671.
Previous experience managing or mentoring engineering teams.
Established professional network within the UK water sector.
Experience of electrical design for treatment works, pumping stations and related infrastructure.
