Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Art Teacher to join a secondary school in Widnes from 30 September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Art Teacher seeking a short-term teaching position, with the role expected to run for up to 8 weeks.
The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, joining an established department and delivering engaging, creative and appropriately challenging lessons to pupils across the secondary age range.

Teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4
Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons
Supporting pupils to develop their artistic skills, creativity and confidence

Assessing pupil progress and providing appropriate feedback

The school is a well-established secondary school in the Widnes area, providing education to pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The successful Art Teacher will become an important part of the school's creative curriculum for the duration of the placement. The school is looking for a teacher who can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and colleagues and deliver consistently high-quality Art lessons.
This role would suit an experienced Art Teacher looking for a short-term opportunity, as well as teachers who are available for work during the autumn term and are looking to secure a placement from the end of September.
The Ideal Art Teacher
The successful candidate will ideally:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have experience teaching Art at KS3 and KS4
Have strong subject knowledge across the secondary Art curriculum
Be confident planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons
Be able to differentiate effectively for pupils of varying abilities
Have high expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement
Build positive and professional relationships with pupils
Be able to quickly integrate into an established department
