How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design Technology Technician - Sefton

    Location: Sefton
    Contract: Full Time
    Start Date: Immediate Start

    Design Technology Technician Required for a Sefton Secondary School

    Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Design Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Sefton on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled DT Technician with experience working within a school, college, workshop or similar practical environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the Design Technology department, ensuring lessons can be delivered safely and effectively across a range of practical subjects.

    The Role - Design Technology Technician

    As a Design Technology Technician, your responsibilities will include:

    Preparing, maintaining and organising equipment and materials for Design Technology lessons.
    Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons.
    Ensuring workshops, classrooms and equipment are safe, clean and ready for use.
    Maintaining and checking a wide range of Design Technology tools, machinery and equipment.
    Supporting practical work across areas such as resistant materials, woodwork, graphics and other DT disciplines.
    Carrying out routine maintenance and reporting any faults or safety concerns.
    Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required.
    Ensuring all equipment is used in accordance with school health and safety procedures.
    Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Design Technology department.Requirements

    The successful Design Technology Technician will:

    Have previous experience working with Design Technology equipment and machinery.
    Hold an appropriate Health & Safety certificate/qualification covering the safe use of relevant DT equipment and machinery.
    Have a strong understanding of workshop and machinery safety.
    Be confident using and maintaining a range of practical equipment.
    Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
    Have excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.
    Ideally have previous experience working within a secondary school or educational setting.
    Be able to start immediately.To be considered, you will need:

    An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
    A full career history
    At least two professional references, including your most recent placement
