Job Description

Interaction recruitment Milton Keynes are looking for HGV Class 2 Drivers who will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods within the designated routes. The role requires adherence to all relevant road safety regulations and company policies, ensuring the secure loading, transit, and delivery of products to customers or distribution centres. The client operates heavy goods vehicles in compliance with legal and organisational standards, maintaining excellent service quality throughout the delivery process.

Job Duties

Operate Class 2 heavy goods vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently.
Conduct pre-journey and post-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects promptly.
To complete 2-3 deliveries per shift to Distribution Centres.
Plan and follow efficient routes in line with delivery schedules and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate delivery records, including documentation of goods received and delivered.
Comply with all relevant health and safety, traffic, and transport legislation.
Communicate effectively with logistics coordinators and customers to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any issues.
Ensure the vehicle is clean and maintained according to company standards.
Adhere to company policies on timekeeping, conduct, and professionalism at all times.

Required Qualifications

Valid Category C driving licence with a current digital tachograph card.
Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for drivers.
Driver Qualification Card (DQC) up to date.
Minimum of 2 years experience required

Experience

Proven experience as an HGV Class 2 driver, ideally within logistics, distribution, or supply chain environments.
Experience in handling goods loading and unloading safely.
Familiarity with route planning and time management for deliveries.
2 years driving experience on HGV Class 2.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong understanding of road safety regulations and transport compliance requirements.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Competent in using digital tachographs and other vehicle technology.
Physically capable of loading and unloading goods when necessary.

You will be required to complete a driving assessment prior to starting this role. This assessment will be paid for.
