Are you excited and able to shape the future of a growing, successful family-owned business! If so, this role is for you.
Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys combining strategic influence with hands-on operational delivery?
We are recruiting an HR Business Partner / HR Manager for a profitable, family-owned company employing approximately 250 people in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area. With more than 25 years of successful trading the company has a strong culture, an established management team and a full order book for the foreseeable future. This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable and established business as it enters its next phase of growth.
Working closely with the Directors and Operational Managers, you will be an integral trusted partner across the organisation. You will play a key role in strengthening management capability, supporting succession planning arising from future retirements, developing the talent pipeline and ensure the full employee lifecycle is managed effectively alongside the relevant internal stakeholders.
This role will suit a commercially minded HR professional who builds credibility quickly, offers pragmatic solutions and is equally comfortable contributing to business strategy and rolling up their sleeves to resolve an operational issue.
The opportunity
* Partner with the Directors and Operational Managers to translate business priorities into practical people plans.
* Coach and challenge managers to build their confidence, capability and accountability for people management.
* Support succession planning, organisational development and the transfer of knowledge as the business prepares for its next phase of growth.
* Partner with the recruitment team to build the workforce and talent pipeline needed for future growth.
* Take ownership and lead talent management, learning and development, annual appraisals, pay review activity and reward administration.
* Lead the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment support, onboarding, employee relations, absence, performance, reward and offboarding.
* Use people data and commercial insight to identify trends, manage risk and recommend improvements.
* Design and deliver management training, toolbox talks and practical HR guidance.
* Review policies and introduce proportionate, workable processes that support legislation and business needs.
* Support and oversee payroll-related HR activities, ensuring accurate processing of employee changes, pensions, benefits and statutory payments whilst working closely with relevant internal stakeholders.
Whilst this role has the opportunity to develop a strategic focus, it is a hands-on position. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing business partnering and organisational development activities with operational HR responsibilities including employee relations, absence management and oversight of payroll-related processes.
What you will bring
* CIPD Level 7 qualification.
* Significant generalist HR experience gained within manufacturing, construction, engineering or a similar operational environment.

* A commercial outlook and an understanding of how effective people practices contribute to productivity, quality, cost and sustainable growth.
* Experience of employee relations, absence and performance management, talent management, succession planning and management development.
* A proactive, solutions-orientated approach, resilience and a genuine can-do, roll-your-sleeves attitude.
* Strong organisation, communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.
Why apply?
* A key and visible role with genuine access to the Directors and influence over the future people agenda.
* A profitable, established and successful family-owned company with a full order book for the foresable future.
* A positive culture and an experienced, established management team who have a strong desire to succeed and happy to receive new perspectives.
