We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Carpenter / Multi-Skilled Operative to join a well-established company on a permanent basis.
The role will primarily involve fire door remedial works across social housing, schools, hospitals and other public-sector buildings throughout Ipswich and the surrounding Suffolk areas.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of fire door remedial and maintenance works, including:
* Repairing and maintaining fire doors
* Replacing and adjusting hinges
* Installing/replacing intumescent strips
* Mastic and sealing works
* General remedial works to fire doors
* Ad hoc maintenance and carpentry duties as required
* Working professionally within occupied properties and public buildings
About You
We are ideally looking for someone with a Carpentry & Joinery background who is confident carrying out maintenance and remedial works.
Fire door experience would be highly advantageous, particularly previous experience installing or repairing fire doors, although this is not essential for the right candidate.
You will need to be:
* Experienced in carpentry/joinery or general maintenance
* Practical and confident carrying out remedial works
* A conscientious and reliable individual
* Professional and respectful when dealing with clients and members of the public
* Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
* Well presented with good communication skills
