Working from a modern workshop facility, you'll become part of an experienced team responsible for maintaining and refurbishing a wide range of pumps and rotating equipment. The role offers excellent variety, combining hands-on workshop activities with occasional customer site visits, giving engineers exposure to a broad range of industries and equipment types.
This position would suit an experienced mechanical engineer, pump engineer or rotating equipment technician looking for long-term stability, overtime opportunities and the chance to work on technically challenging projects.
The Role
As a Pump Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, overhaul, repair and testing of a wide range of pumps and associated rotating equipment.
The role is primarily workshop-based, although there will be occasions where you will support customers on-site with inspections, fault finding, installations, maintenance and breakdown activities.
Key Responsibilities
Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and overhauling a wide range of centrifugal pumps, including high and low-pressure pumps.
Servicing and repairing submersible pumps, self-priming pumps, vacuum pumps and blowers.
Diagnosing mechanical faults and identifying suitable repair solutions.
Carrying out refurbishment and maintenance activities on associated rotating equipment including compressors, gearboxes, fans and valves.
Performing alignment checks, inspections and performance testing.
Producing accurate service reports and technical documentation.
Supporting installation, commissioning and maintenance activities on customer sites.
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with quality standards and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience servicing, repairing or overhauling pumps and rotating equipment.
Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills.
Experience working on centrifugal pumps.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
A flexible approach with willingness to travel occasionally for site-based work.
Strong commitment to quality, safety and customer service.
Full UK Driving Licence.
