Location: Knaresborough
Pay Rate: £25.00 per hour PAYE
Contract: Ongoing
Hours: Monday to Friday, alternating weekly shifts

## About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a waste treatment plant near Knaresborough. You will support the mechanical maintenance team with the maintenance and repair of mechanical plant, equipment and services, including planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and planned outages.

## Working Hours

Week 1: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Week 2: 10:00pm – 6:00am, Monday to Friday
## Key Responsibilities

Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical assets.
Fault-find and repair equipment including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, valves and cranes.
Carry out fabrication, refurbishment and general workshop duties.
Assist with planned outages and maintenance activities.
Operate workshop machinery.
Use the site CMMS system effectively.
Read and work from mechanical drawings and documentation.
Participate in toolbox talks and team briefings.
Report faults, incidents, near misses and safety concerns.
Work in line with site Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
## About You

You will ideally be a time-served Mechanical Fitter with a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and/or Level 3 NVQ/BTEC in Maintenance Engineering.
You should have proven experience with:

Conveyor systems
Valves and gearboxes
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Mechanical fault-finding and repairs
Fabrication
Planned preventative maintenance
Mechanical drawings
Permit-to-work systems
Risk assessments and method statements

IOSH Managing Safely is desirable.
