Flat Roofing Operative

A well-established nationwide flat roofing contractor based in the Stoke-on-Trent area is looking to appoint an experienced Flat Roofing Operative. The business is a family-run specialist covering felt, single ply and liquid systems across educational, commercial, ecclesiastical and domestic projects, with accreditations including CHAS, Constructionline Silver, NFRC and Sika Sarnafil approved contractor status.
This is a hands-on role for a competent flat roofer who takes pride in their work. You will join a small, tight-knit team delivering quality installations to clients who value doing the job properly. The role is offered on a permanent PAYE basis, with self-employment considered for the right person.

Flat Roofing Operative Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 (DOE)
* Company Van
* Tools, PPE and Uniform Provided
* Statutory Holiday Including Bank Holidays
* Paid Two-Week Christmas Shutdown
* Statutory Sick Pay
* 3-Month Probation Period
* Established family-run contractor working with premium manufacturer partners including Sika Sarnafil, Garland, ICB and Icopal

Flat Roofing Operative Job Overview
* Install flat roofing systems including felt, single ply and liquid waterproofing
* Prepare and clean surfaces ahead of installation
* Work from drawings, specifications and supervisor instructions
* Assist with detailing including upstands, drainage points and terminations
* Maintain high standards of workmanship and finish
* Follow health and safety requirements on site at all times
* Keep tools, van and site tidy and well organised
* Work as part of a small, close-knit team alongside colleagues and supervisors

Flat Roofing Operative Requirements
* Previous flat roofing experience is essential
* Felt experience is preferable, with single ply or liquid systems also welcomed
* Shorter-term experience will be considered where prior flat roofing employment can be evidenced
* Driving licence preferred and advantageous
* Reliable, punctual and with a genuine work ethic
* Comfortable working outdoors and at height
* Based within a sensible commute of Stoke-on-Trent or the wider Cheshire area
