How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Spencer Clarke Group are working with a secondary school on the Fylde Coast who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed PE Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave from January 2027.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PE Teacher or an ECT looking for a long-term position within a supportive secondary school environment.

    The successful PE Teacher will be responsible for:

    Planning and delivering engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4.
    Teaching a range of sporting activities and disciplines.
    Creating a positive, inclusive and motivating learning environment.
    Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities.
    Maintaining high standards of behaviour and participation.
    Monitoring and assessing pupil progress.
    Building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
    Contributing to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, fixtures and school sport where required.We are looking for a PE Teacher who:

    Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    Has experience teaching PE within a secondary school.
    Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for sport and physical education.
    Can deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
    Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
    Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to supporting pupils to achieve their potential.
