HSE Manager

An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join their team in Watford, Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities for HSE Manager:

* Provide consistent and accurate HSE advice to HSE Advisors and site teams across the region

* Line manage and mentor HSE Advisors, supporting their professional development

* Conduct regular site visits, detailed monthly HSE inspections, and audits

* Lead and support accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and producing reports within required timeframes

* Produce and communicate HSE alerts and monthly regional HSE statistics, identifying trends and driving improvements

* Attend client HSE forums and form collaborative relationships with client HSE management

* Deliver awareness training and lead site standdowns

* Support facilities management at regional company premises on HSE related matters

* Promote occupational health and wellbeing across the region

Essential Requirements for HSE Manager:

* NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum

* CSCS Safety Professional Card

* Extensive HSE experience within a civil engineering environment

* Strong incident investigation, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills

* Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

* Able to work independently and as part of a team to tight deadlines

Desirable:

* IOSH or CEnv qualification

* Working towards NEBOSH Diploma Level 6

* Level 3 AET or PTLLS

* Kelvin TOPSET or equivalent incident investigation training

* Experience in the rail sector
