Security Officer
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Location: Wales, Cwmbran centric
About the Role
Our client is seeking a professional and motivated Security Officer to join their dedicated security team. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play a vital part in protecting staff, patients, visitors and property across multiple sites.
Working independently and as part of a wider team, you will maintain a highly visible security presence, respond to incidents, support investigations and help create a safe and secure environment for all.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms and emergencies.
* Carry out regular patrols of buildings and grounds.
* Deter, detect and report criminal activity and security breaches.
* Assist with investigations, evidence gathering and report writing.
* Support emergency procedures, including fire alarm activations.
* Maintain accurate incident reports and daily logs.
* Provide advice and support on security-related matters.
* Assist clinical teams in managing challenging situations where safety is at risk.
* Support the prevention of unauthorised access, absconding and anti-social behaviour.
* Liaise with Police, Fire and Ambulance Services when required.
* Escort cash, valuables and sensitive assets as required.
* Assist with adverse weather duties, including gritting and snow clearance.
* Participate in specialist emergency response and incident training.
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Previous experience in a security role or similar.
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
* Flexibility to work adhoc shifts with short notice
* Strong team-working skills with the ability to work independently.
* Good IT and keyboard skills.
* Professional and reliable attitude
* Ability to travel between sites when required.
* Full driving licence
* SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
Desirable
Previous healthcare security experience.
Knowledge of CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
Understanding of relevant security legislation.
Health & Safety awareness.
Welsh speaking ability or willingness to learn.
