PMLD Teacher

PK Education is looking for a passionate and dedicated PMLD Teacher to work within a specialist education setting in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is committed to providing engaging, personalised education for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs.

The Role

As a PMLD Teacher, you will plan and deliver highly individualised learning experiences that support pupils' educational, communication, physical, sensory and personal development.

Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals, you will create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil is supported to make progress and achieve their individual goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes

Supporting pupils with PMLD, complex learning difficulties and additional needs

Using sensory, communication and engagement-based approaches to learning

Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress

Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, families and other professionals

Promoting pupils' independence, communication, confidence and wellbeing

Maintaining a positive, nurturing and safe learning environment

About You

We would love to hear from teachers who:

Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

Have experience working with pupils with PMLD, SEND or complex needs

Have a strong understanding of differentiated and personalised learning

Are patient, compassionate, resilient and adaptable

Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families

Are committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs

Experience within a specialist school or SEND provision would be highly beneficial.
