Music and Intervention Teacher – Islington
Start date: January 2027
Contract: Full-time, fixed term until 31 August 2027, with the possibility of extension
Salary: £41,729–£54,131 per annum
A highly successful primary school in Islington is seeking an enthusiastic Music and Intervention Teacher to join its team from January 2027.
The successful teacher will deliver whole-class Music lessons across the school, lead choir sessions and help establish an engaging and inclusive musical culture. The role will also involve delivering targeted interventions to support pupils’ attainment and progress.
Responsibilities will include:

Delivering inspiring whole-class Music lessons
*
Leading the school choir and coordinating performances
*
Organising assemblies and extracurricular Music clubs
*
Delivering targeted academic interventions
*
Planning for pupils with mixed abilities and educational needs
*
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
*
Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and families
Applicants should have:
*
UK QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
*
Strong primary teaching experience
*
The ability to play and teach a range of musical instruments
*
Experience organising performances, choirs or Music clubs
*
A strong understanding of intervention and strategies for raising attainment
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills
*
A current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
*
