Nursery Teacher – Islington
Start date: January 2027
Contract: Full-time maternity cover
Salary: Inner London MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
A welcoming and successful primary school in Islington is seeking an experienced Nursery Teacher to join its Early Years team from January 2027.
The successful candidate will be a confident and enthusiastic EYFS practitioner with a strong understanding of early child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
The role will involve:

Planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning
*
Creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive Nursery environment
*
Assessing children’s development and planning appropriate next steps
*
Supporting children with a range of learning and developmental needs
*
Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and families
*
Maintaining high safeguarding and welfare standards
Applicants should have:
*
UK QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
*
Recent Nursery or EYFS teaching experience
*
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
*
Excellent classroom and behaviour management
*
A current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
*
