We are looking for an experienced Production Operator to join our team at CoorsTek Crewe.
The role involves using pressing processes to create ceramic components ready for the next stages of manufacture.
We are looking for someone with a strong manufacturing background who also has CNC machining experience. The successful candidate will be confident working with production machinery, following technical instructions and producing components to defined quality and dimensional requirements.
The role involves the manufacture of ceramic components using cold isostatic pressing processes, alongside associated machining and production activities.
Duties
* Operate dry bag and wet bag cold isostatic pressing equipment safely and in accordance with operating procedures.
* Prepare and load ceramic powders and materials ready for pressing.
* Load, position and remove bags, moulds and components as required by the process.
* Set up and operate equipment using the correct production parameters.
* Safely remove and handle pressed ceramic components following each pressing cycle.
* Accurately complete production, batch and quality documentation.
* Identify and report defects, equipment faults or process abnormalities.
* Follow procedures relating to high-pressure equipment, powder handling, manual handling and other relevant hazards.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping within the Dry and Wet Bag Area.
* Carry out routine cleaning and basic equipment checks where required.
* Work closely with other operators, team leaders and supporting departments to achieve production targets.
* Follow all CoorsTek health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
* Support continuous improvement activities within the department.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience operating production or manufacturing machinery.
* CNC machining experience – desirable .
* A good mechanical aptitude and confidence working with machinery.
* Experience working to defined specifications and quality standards.
* The ability to read and follow engineering drawings, technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
* Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
* Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and report process or equipment issues.
Previous experience within ceramics, isostatic pressing, powder processing or a similar manufacturing process would be advantageous.
Candidates with a background in CNC machining or CNC machine operation are particularly encouraged to apply, as these skills transfer well to the technical and quality-focused nature of the Dry & Wet Bag area
