How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SPONSORSHIP ASSESSMENT

Where sponsorship may be available for the role, sponsorship is not guaranteed and will only be considered for candidates who meet the Company's requirements and demonstrate the necessary competency, performance, conduct and suitability for the role.

Candidates who require sponsorship may initially be employed under their existing legal right to work in the UK, including any applicable restriction on the number of hours they are legally permitted to work. Where a candidate's current immigration status limits them to a maximum of 20 hours per week, they may work these legally permitted hours with us while their suitability for the role is assessed.

The assessment period will generally be between four weeks and three months, depending on the circumstances and the individual's role, performance and progress.

The three-month period is based on current UK Government immigration requirements and is not a company-imposed waiting period. Candidates who are already in the UK on a Skilled Worker visa and are legally able to make a qualifying switch to a new sponsored role may, where permitted under the applicable immigration rules, be eligible for sponsorship without completing the full three-month assessment period.

Completion of an assessment period does not create an entitlement or guarantee of sponsorship or a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS). Following the assessment, the Company will determine whether the candidate meets the required standard and whether sponsorship is appropriate and available. Any decision to issue a CoS will remain subject to the candidate meeting all applicable UK immigration and sponsorship requirements, as well as the Company’s own sponsorship requirements.

C4 Care does not use third parties to arrange sponsorship and does not charge candidates for sponsorship or the issuing of a Certificate of Sponsorship.
