How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Site Engineer / Site Manager – Civils

    Location: Farnborough, Hampshire
    Project: Data Centre, until February 2027 with the potential for work in the region beyond

    My client is looking for an experienced Site Engineer / Site Manager to join our team on a live data centre project in Farnborough.

    This is a hands-on role. The successful person must be capable of carrying out all engineering and setting out, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day management, planning, quality, commercial awareness and delivery of the works.

    Main Duties

    Carry out all site engineering and setting out.

    Set out drainage, ducting, foundations, concrete works, roads, kerbs and external works.

    Check levels, coordinates, dimensions and construction drawings.

    Produce and maintain accurate as-built information.

    Manage all site QA, ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation.

    Ensure works are completed correctly and in accordance with drawings and specifications.

    Manage the day-to-day delivery of the project.

    Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.

    Plan upcoming works and forecast site requirements.

    Provide input into the project programme and monitor progress against it.

    Identify delays, risks and programme issues early and report them.

    Monitor site costs and have good commercial awareness.

    Assist with variations, additional works, records and commercial information.Work closely with the QS and commercial team.Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site operatives.

    Liaise directly with the client and attend progress and coordination meetings.

    Deal professionally with client queries and site issues.

    Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.

    Take responsibility for site health and safety, including RAMS, briefings, inspections and site standards.

    Coordinate temporary works where required.

    Report progress, costs, issues, risks and requirements back to the Contracts Manager/Project Manager.

    Essential Requirements

    * Relevant Engineering qualification.

    * Strong site engineering and setting out experience.

    * Experience managing civil engineering and groundworks projects.

    * SMSTS.

    * Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.

    * First Aid at Work qualification.

    * Strong experience with QA and quality documentation.

    * Good planning and programme management skills.

    * Commercial awareness and understanding of costs, variations and project records.

    * Confident dealing directly with clients.

    * Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.

    * Confident using total stations, GPS and site engineering equipment.

    * Able to read and understand drawings, specifications and construction information.

    * Experience with drainage, reinforced concrete, foundations, ducting, roads and external works

    £375.00 - £450.00 per day
