Accounts Assistant Manager

TPF Recruitment is currently working with a well established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Brighton who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant Manager to join their friendly and growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who is looking to take the next step in their career, taking on greater responsibility across a varied portfolio of clients while working closely with an experienced and supportive team.

The role would suit an experienced Accounts Senior or existing Assistant Manager who is confident dealing with clients, reviewing accounts and helping to support more junior members of a team.

The Role

You will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients, working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver a high quality accounts and advisory service.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders and partnerships

Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts

Preparing corporation tax computations and returns

Reviewing accounts and work prepared by junior members of the team

Preparing management accounts and other financial information where required

Handling VAT returns and general accounting assignments

Acting as a key point of contact for a portfolio of clients

Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

Assisting Managers and Partners with more complex client work

Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and services to clients

There is plenty of variety within the role, with the opportunity to become increasingly involved in client management and take on additional responsibility as your experience develops.

RequirementsThe successful candidate will ideally have:

Several years' experience working within an accountancy practice

Strong experience preparing accounts for a varied portfolio of clients

Experience reviewing accounts and supporting junior team members

Good knowledge of UK accounting and taxation

AAT qualified, ACA or ACCA qualified, or actively studying towards a professional qualification

Strong communication and client management skills

A proactive approach and desire to progress within practice
