How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Executive
    Stokenchurch, High Wycombe

    The Company

We are MyDek Ltd, on a mission to make high-rise living safer through our fully certified, non-combustible decking and cladding systems.

Having built our reputation across the balcony and terrace decking market, in both refurbishment and new build, we are now expanding our cladding offering. We work directly with designers, contractors and site teams to deliver the whole solution, from substructure and fixings through to installation support. This practical, solution-led approach is what sets us apart and gives our business development team a strong story to take to customers.

We are now looking for a Business Development Executive to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. Working hours are 07:30–16:30, Monday to Friday, based at our Stokenchurch office, with customer and site visits as required.

    The Benefits

    - Salary of up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
    - Significant investment in training and development
    - Strong company bonus scheme

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and resilient sales professional with the confidence to pick up the phone and start conversations that move construction projects forward.

You'll have the chance to build your commercial experience within a technical, consultative environment as we expand into new markets, building your professional network and enhancing your skill set.

What's more, we'll invest significantly in your training and development, giving you a clear path to progress in sales or develop into a more senior role as you grow with us.

So, if you are looking to advance your sales career and are ready to put in the daily graft, read on and apply today!

    The Role

You'll spend a substantial part of your day on the phone, proactively contacting potential customers and following up on construction projects. You'll need to enjoy starting conversations, be persistent when people are difficult to reach and keep opportunities moving through regular, well-judged follow-up.

Alongside calling, you'll research projects, identify the right contacts and understand their requirements and timescales. You'll speak with architects, developers, main contractors, façade contractors, buyers and installers, securing relevant meetings and qualified enquiries for the wider MyDek team.

This is a practical business development role where preparation and persistence count. Each conversation should help you learn something useful, build a relationship or agree a clear next step.

Working alongside our external business development team and directors, you will keep the CRM accurate and up to date, and co-ordinate with technical, estimating, operations and leadership colleagues to keep opportunities progressing.

    Additionally, you will:

    - Prepare the context, purpose and questions for meetings
    - Answer straightforward customer queries and involve technical colleagues when a question needs a specialist
    - Manage inbox and email communications
    - Provide clear briefs to internal teams and follow up on agreed actions
    - Read and interpret construction drawings to understand project requirements and assist the estimating team when required
    - Build your knowledge of our products and relevant construction and specification stages

    About You

To be considered as a Business Development Executive, you will need:

    - Confidence and willingness to make a high volume of proactive outbound calls
    - Persistence through unanswered calls, setbacks and long sales cycles
    - Curiosity and listening skills to ask useful questions and understand project needs
    - A consultative approach, with the ability to secure relevant meetings and influence customers to take the next step
    - Good research, organisation and follow-through, including accurate CRM records
    - Commercial awareness: understanding a project's scope, budget, timing, decision-makers and the next step towards an enquiry or order
    - Willingness to learn MyDek's products, answer straightforward questions and bring in the right specialist when needed
    - The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, with a willingness to support estimating when needed
    - The right to work in the UK

    Ideally, you will also have:

    - Awareness of façade or cladding systems
    - Awareness of higher-risk building gateways and the Building Safety Regulator process

Other organisations may call this role BDE, Sales Executive, New Business Executive, New Business Development Executive, Outbound Sales Executive, Telesales Executive, or Internal Sales Executive.

Webrecruit and MyDek are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.
