An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scientist to join a client in the Underwater Measurement Systems sector, based in Staffordshire. This role is within a dedicated Research Team, focusing on electromagnetic field studies, software development, and system design related to vessel systems and underwater measurement ranges.
Key Responsibilities:
The role will involve a variety of scientific, modelling, and programming activities across different project stages, including:
Magnetic and electric source modelling
Electromagnetic field propagation in various media
Finite Element & Boundary Element Analysis
Underwater Signature Analysis (electromagnetic, acoustic, pressure, seismic)
Numerical and optimisation methods
Modern control theoryQualifications/Education Requirements:
Educated to degree level (or higher) in physics, mathematics, or a related scientific discipline
A postgraduate qualification or relevant experience is highly desirable
Strong programming skills (experience in C++ is a plus)
Experience in electromagnetic modelling, Vector Fields FEA, COMSOL, MATLAB/Simulink is advantageous
Strong written communication and report writing skills
Confident in presenting and customer interactions
