Location: Croydon (Bardsley Court, Claremont Court and Garden Court)

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 9am – 2.30pm, 27.5 hours per week

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months

Salary: £15.65 per hour (rising to £16.19 per hour after a successful probation of 5 months)

We are looking for a reliable, practical and tenant-focused Premises Officer to help provide clean, safe and well-maintained environments across our care schemes, Bardsley Court, Claremont Court and Garden Court.

In this varied role, you will deliver cleaning and caretaking services, support day-to-day site operations, respond to tenant queries, liaise with colleagues and contractors, and help ensure that communal areas, grounds, refuse areas and site records are maintained to a high standard.

You will also provide day-to-day supervision for the Cleaner at Garden Court, helping to maintain standards, support development and ensure relevant health and safety and operational procedures are followed.

What you'll be doing

Provide cleaning and general caretaking services across the three sites.
Help keep premises, equipment, furnishings, grounds, refuse areas and planted areas clean, safe and well maintained.
Monitor and report repairs, pest control issues, risks, incidents and other matters requiring follow-up.
Act as a helpful point of contact for tenants, contractors, colleagues and visitors.
Support safe access to premises, including helping with gritting and clearing paths in freezing weather where required.
Maintain stock of cleaning materials and consumables, ensuring safe storage and compliance with COSHH requirements
Keep relevant site records, logbooks and health and safety checks up to date.

Person specification

Experience of working in a cleaning, caretaking or similar premises-based environment.
A caring, customer-focused approach and the ability to deal sensitively and helpfully with tenant queries.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with tenants, colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, reliability and an organised approach to managing time, priorities and resources.
Experience of supervising staff, contractors or service providers, or a willingness to learn.
IOSH Health and Safety and First Aid qualifications, or willingness to undertake relevant training.
