Job Overview
A Senior Fire Engineer is required to lead complex fire engineering projects from design through to delivery in Birmingham. The role suits a degree-qualified fire engineering professional with senior-level consultancy experience delivering fire-engineered solutions for UK projects across new-build and existing buildings, working alongside clients, architects and statutory authorities.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead fire engineering projects from concept to completion
Develop fire strategies, reports, calculations and technical documentation
Undertake smoke, evacuation and CFD modelling
Complete fire dynamics and structural fire assessments
Mentor junior engineers and support technical development
You will review building designs, develop compliant fire-engineered solutions and participate in client and design team meetings. The role also involves applying UK fire regulations, guidance and project-specific requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
Degree in Fire Engineering or related engineering discipline
Senior-level fire engineering consultancy experience
Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartership
Experience delivering UK fire-engineered building solutions
Strong client-facing, written and verbal communication skills
You should be confident managing multiple projects while working independently and collaboratively. Experience across varied sectors, including new-build and existing buildings, is preferred.
Salary & Benefits
£55,000 - £70,000 dependent on experience
