Supply Desk are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive apecialist school in Southampton This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs. The school are eager to welcome either a primary or secondary teacher with a passion for inclusion. This post is a maternity cover from November to Summer 2027.  

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised and differentiated learning to pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting their academic progress, personal development and emotional wellbeing. You will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
Support pupils with a variety of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in line with EHCP targets.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
Promote positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support engagement and achievement.
Encourage pupils to develop their independence, communication and social skills.
Requirements

Passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive education and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties.
Committed to supporting pupils both academically, socially and emotionally.
A confident and adaptable classroom practitioner who can differentiate learning to meet a range of individual needs.
A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a wider school and support team.
Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
Professional, patient, reliable and resilient in their approach to teaching and supporting pupils.
Dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued and supported.
Committed to helping pupils achieve their individual potential while developing their confidence, independence and life skills.
