Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a growing bespoke joinery business for a Workshop Labourer to join their new manufacturing workshop in Greater Manchester.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is reliable, hardworking and keen to develop their skills within a professional joinery and manufacturing environment.
Working alongside experienced machinists and bench joiners, you will provide essential support with material handling, preparation, packing, loading and the general running of the workshop.
 
The Role

Unloading deliveries of timber, sheet materials, hardware and workshop supplies.
Moving and storing materials safely around the workshop.
Supporting machinists and bench joiners with day-to-day workshop requirements.
Preparing materials and components for manufacture.
Organising materials and components against individual job numbers.
Keeping workshop, bench and machine areas clean, organised and safe.
Removing waste and offcuts and separating materials appropriately.
Packing completed joinery ready for delivery and installation.
Protecting finished products using suitable packaging materials.
Assisting with loading delivery vehicles.
Checking completed items and components are loaded against the correct job.
Maintaining clear access routes and fire exits.
Assisting with general workshop maintenance and housekeeping.
Supporting stock checks and organisation of workshop consumables.
Following all health and safety procedures and using the correct PPE.
Reporting damaged materials, equipment or safety concerns to the Workshop Manager. About You
Previous experience within a workshop, joinery, construction, manufacturing or warehouse environment would be beneficial, although it is not essential.

Be keen to learn new skills and develop within the business. Desirable Experience

Previous joinery or furniture manufacturing experience.
Experience handling MDF, MFC, laminates, timber or other sheet materials.
Manual handling training.
Forklift licence or previous forklift experience.
Full UK driving licence. What's On Offer?
