Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a Secondary School in Bury who are looking to appoint a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about supporting young people and helping pupils achieve their full potential in a secondary school environment.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other members of the school's support staff to provide effective support to pupils across the school. You will play an important role in helping pupils engage with their learning, develop confidence and make positive progress.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Provide classroom support to pupils across a range of subjects and abilities.
Work alongside teaching staff to help deliver engaging and effective lessons.
Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support where required.
Help pupils remain focused, motivated and engaged with their learning.
Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
Encourage positive behaviour and contribute to maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment.
Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and learning activities.
Build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils.
What We Are Looking For
Previous experience working within a school or education setting is essential. Only applicants who have worked in schools or within the education sector will be considered for this position.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Cover Supervisor, or in another relevant education-based role.
Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils.
A genuine interest in supporting children's learning and development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
A patient, supportive and adaptable approach.
The confidence to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider school team.
Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, SEND or a related field would be advantageous.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries within an educational environment.
