About the Role
A well-established residential developer is expanding its dedicated delivery team to support a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. We are currently seeking an ambitious and reliable Quantity Surveyor to focus on specialized Fire Remediation Works.
Based out of our Enfield Head Office, this position offers long-term stability starting on a temporary basis with a day rate of £350 - £400 per day, with a clear path to a permanent role for the right candidate. You will oversee essential daily commercial duties while focusing on critical packages such as cladding, drylining, and structural fire safety upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management: Oversee day-to-day quantity surveying duties across active fire remediation projects from initial setup through to final account settlement.
Procurement & Subcontractor Management: Source, negotiate, and manage specialist subcontractors, particularly within cladding, drylining, and remediation disciplines.
Valuations & Variations: Carry out monthly valuations, process applications for payment, and manage all project variations and cost adjustments accurately.
Cost Reporting: Prepare monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), cash flow forecasts, and commercial updates for senior management.
Contract Administration: Ensure subcontracts and head contracts are administered in line with company standards and industry regulations.
Key Requirements
Main Contracting Background: Proven experience working directly for a Main Contractor or Major Developer is essential.
Career Stability: A CV showing long, stable stints with previous employers (avoiding frequent short-term job-hopping).
Sector Experience: Hands-on experience or a strong technical understanding of drylining, cladding, and/or fire remediation. Candidates with strong core QS skills and cladding/drylining experience who are willing and eager to learn the specifics of fire remediation are highly encouraged to apply.
Core QS Toolkit: Solid track record managing procurement, variations, cost reporting, and subcontractor accounts.
Commute: Ability to work regularly from our head office base in Enfield.
