ACVR Services Limited is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover from late November 2026.
We are an established mechanical services contractor specialising in air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical installations, with particular expertise in healthcare and medical environments.
The position will involve supporting the commercial management of our live projects, working closely with our Project Managers, Head of Construction and Finance team. Some responsibilities will be shared with existing members of staff, allowing the role to be shaped around the successful candidate’s experience and availability.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment
• Reviewing and agreeing project variations and instructions
• Assessing subcontractor applications and payments
• Supporting procurement and subcontractor appointments
• Monitoring project costs, margins, cash flow and commercial risks
• Assisting with final accounts and contract administration
• Providing practical commercial advice to the wider project team
About you:
• Previous Quantity Surveying experience within building services, M&E, HVAC or construction
• Confident managing valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts
• Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently while collaborating with project and finance teams
• Familiarity with commonly used construction contracts
• Healthcare or other regulated-sector experience would be beneficial but is not essential
This could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is looking for a flexible, part-time position, perhaps as part of a phased return to work, a step back from a full-time role, or a way to continue using their experience without committing to a five-day working week.
We anticipate the role being 2 or 3 days per week, with the exact working pattern open to discussion. A degree of flexibility may also be available for the right person.
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience, calculated on a pro-rata basis
Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover for approximately 12 months
