How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you a CNC Miller who wants to keep developing your skills? Do you take pride in producing accurate parts and checking your own work?

We are looking for a CNC Miller to join a growing precision engineering business in Hampshire. You will set up and run CNC milling machines producing high-quality components, working as part of a supportive team in an established business that invests in training.

The machine shop runs Mazak and Doosan horizontal machining centres with Fanuc controls. You don't need to have used these before. If you have solid milling experience on other CNC machines, training will be provided.

Your responsibilities as a CNC Miller:

Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components.
Read and work from engineering drawings.
Select and set up tooling, workholding and work offsets.
Inspect your own work using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other measuring equipment.
Maintain high quality standards with close attention to detail.
Your current experience which will help you as a CNC Miller:

Previous experience in CNC machining or milling.
Good understanding of milling processes, tooling and workholding.
Able to read engineering drawings and inspect your own work.
Reliable, motivated and keen to learn.
Desirable but not essential: Mazak or Doosan horizontal machining centres, Fanuc controls, or low-volume precision production.
What you can expect as a CNC Miller:

    £16.00 - £20.00 per hour, permanent position.
Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-15:30.
24 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
    Workplace pension.
    Free onsite parking.
    Ongoing training and development.
Overtime available after successful completion of probation
