How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About you

If you are an experienced Site Manager who enjoys commercial fit out and wants to join a business where you are trusted to get on with the job, this could be worth a conversation.

You will be based in the North West, so you will need to live within a sensible travelling distance of Merseyside. The role does involve working away when required, although the company has a good balance across the team and the expectation is not that you will be away all the time.

You might be looking for a role where you can have a bit more stability, work on interesting projects and become part of an established team rather than constantly moving between employers. If that sounds like you, I would be keen to speak with you.

    Your experience

You will need previous experience working as a Site Manager within commercial or corporate fit out.

You will be comfortable taking responsibility for projects from start to finish, managing subcontractors and trades, maintaining health and safety standards and making sure programmes, quality and deadlines are delivered.

The projects range from around £250k through to £3m, so you will ideally have experience managing projects of a similar size and complexity.

Most importantly, you will be someone who can take ownership of a site, communicate well with clients and subcontractors and keep things moving without needing to be constantly managed.

What you will be doing with your experience

You will join an established team of five Site Managers, with the successful candidate becoming the sixth.

You will manage commercial and corporate fit out projects across the North West and further afield when required. Your role will involve coordinating subcontractors and trades, managing site activities, maintaining health and safety standards, monitoring programme and quality, dealing with clients and making sure projects are delivered properly.

The team does not operate on the basis that everyone is permanently away. One of the existing Site Managers prefers working away regularly, while the others rotate away projects between them. That means there is a reasonable balance, while still giving you the opportunity to work on projects outside the North West when required.

You will be given a company van and fuel card, alongside a salary of £40,000 to £50,000 depending on your experience.

    About the business

You will be joining an established construction business based in Merseyside that specialises in corporate and commercial fit out projects.

The company has an existing Site Management team and is adding another Site Manager because of continued project demand. You will be joining a team rather than being the only person doing the job, which means there is support and experience around you.

The projects typically range from £250k to £3m and are delivered for commercial and corporate clients across the region and further afield.
