How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Civil / Drainage Engineer

    Maidstone, Kent | Up to £33,000 | Permanent

    Whether you're a Graduate Civil Engineer looking for your first opportunity or you've already gained up to 2 years' experience, this could be a great opportunity to accelerate your career.

    We're working with an established and growing engineering consultancy in Maidstone that is looking for an enthusiastic Civil / Drainage Engineer to join its team.

    You'll be surrounded by experienced engineers, given the opportunity to develop technically and get involved in real projects from day one.

    The opportunity

    You'll gain exposure to a wide range of civil and drainage work, including:

    *

    Civil engineering and infrastructure design.

    *

    Surface water and foul drainage.

    *

    Drainage strategies and calculations.

    *

    Residential and commercial development projects.

    *

    Producing technical drawings and design information.

    *

    Preparing reports, specifications and technical documentation.

    *

    Working with architects, developers, contractors and other consultants.

    *

    Supporting projects from concept through to detailed design.

    Who are we looking for?

    This role would suit:

    *

    Graduate Civil Engineers.

    *

    Graduate Drainage Engineers.

    *

    Junior Civil Engineers.

    *

    Civil Engineers with up to 2 years' experience.

    You'll ideally have:

    *

    A Civil Engineering degree or related qualification.

    *

    An interest in drainage and infrastructure.

    *

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    *

    Good attention to detail.

    *

    Good communication skills.

    *

    A genuine desire to learn and progress.

    Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage would be a bonus.
