How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate Civil / Drainage Engineer

    Maidstone, Kent | Up to £28,000 | Permanent

    You've put the work into getting your Civil Engineering degree. Now it's time to put it into practice.

    We're working with a successful engineering consultancy in Maidstone, Kent, that is looking for an ambitious Graduate Civil / Drainage Engineer to join its team.

    This is a genuine opportunity to learn from experienced engineers, work on live projects and develop the technical skills that will shape your career.

    You don't need years of experience. We're looking for the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

    What will you get involved in?

    From day one, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills across:

    *

    Civil engineering design.

    *

    Drainage and infrastructure design.

    *

    Surface water and foul drainage.

    *

    Drainage calculations and strategies.

    *

    CAD drawings and design documentation.

    *

    Technical reports and specifications.

    *

    Residential and commercial development projects.

    *

    Supporting experienced engineers on live projects.

    You'll gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.

    What are we looking for?

    You could be a great fit if you have:

    A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

    Good mathematical and analytical skills.

    Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage is useful but not essential.
