How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Edinburgh | Hybrid Working (3 Days Office / 2 Days Home) | £60,000 - £70,000 + Excellent Benefits


    Lusona Consultancy has been exclusively retained by Link Orthopaedics to recruit a Head of Finance on a permanent basis. Based in Edinburgh, this newly created position offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a growing healthcare business at a pivotal stage of its development. The successful candidate will play a key role within the leadership team, partnering with the Managing Director and operational teams to support ambitious growth plans.

    Offering a competitive salary of £60,000 - £70,000, alongside an excellent benefits package including 39 days annual leave, private healthcare, a 5% matched pension contribution and hybrid working, this is a standout opportunity for an experienced finance leader seeking a hands-on and commercially focused role within a dynamic SME environment.

The UK business was established eight years ago and has grown steadily to a team of 31 employees. With continued innovation across the healthcare sector and ambitious expansion plans, the business is investing in a senior finance appointment to support its next phase of growth.


    The Opportunity


    Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance will take ownership of the end-to-end finance function for the UK business, which currently generates annual turnover of approximately £8 million.


    This role combines financial control, technical accounting and commercial finance responsibilities. You will work closely with manufacturing, distribution, production and sales teams, providing meaningful commercial insight, developing profitability models and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.


    This is a highly visible role within the leadership team, offering the opportunity to influence business performance and drive continuous improvement across processes, systems and reporting.

    Occasional quarterly travel will be required.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Lead and develop all financial operations across the UK business.
    • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and cash flow forecasts.
    • Develop and embed robust financial processes, controls and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and financial reporting requirements.
    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Analyse monthly and quarterly financial performance and present findings to the leadership team.
    • Manage the year-end audit process and statutory accounts preparation.
    • Develop financial models to support strategic decision-making and investment opportunities.
    • Deliver scenario modelling and commercial analysis to support business growth.
    • Partner with manufacturing, production, distribution and sales teams to improve profitability and efficiency.
    • Present financial performance and insights at national sales meetings.
    • Manage and develop one direct report


    About You


    The successful candidate will be:


    • A fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CA, ACA or CIMA).
    • Experienced within a commercial finance or finance leadership role.
    • Strong technically with excellent financial accounting and analysis skills.
    • Skilled in financial modelling and business partnering.
    • Comfortable operating in a hands-on SME environment.
    • Experienced in improving management information, reporting and financial processes.
    • Manufacturing, production or stock accounting experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
