How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Opportunity

    micro1 is partnering with a customer to develop high-quality AI training and evaluation data based on real-world public safety communication workflows. We are seeking experienced Public Safety Communications Dispatchers to contribute their expertise in emergency communications, incident prioritization, resource coordination, and protocol-driven decision-making.

    This role is ideal for professionals with experience in 911 operations, law enforcement dispatch, fire communications, EMS dispatch, emergency management, or public safety coordination. Your expertise will help improve how next-generation AI systems process, prioritize, and respond to complex operational scenarios. No prior AI experience is required.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze and prioritize incoming incidents and service requests using established protocols and procedures.
    • Assess emergency and non-emergency situations to determine appropriate response levels and resource allocation.
    • Route requests efficiently to the appropriate agencies, personnel, or response units.
    • Manage multiple communication channels simultaneously, including phone, radio, and digital communication systems.
    • Apply standardized operating procedures, escalation protocols, and dispatch guidelines consistently.
    • Create and evaluate realistic dispatch and emergency communication scenarios.
    • Review and assess generated outputs for accuracy, prioritization logic, communication quality, and protocol compliance.
    • Document decision-making processes and provide structured feedback to improve system performance.
    • Contribute insights on workflow optimization, incident management, and multi-agency coordination.

    Required Qualifications

    • 2+ years of professional experience in public safety communications, emergency dispatch, law enforcement dispatch, fire dispatch, EMS communications, or emergency operations coordination.
    • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple incidents simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
    • Strong understanding of emergency response procedures, escalation protocols, and dispatch workflows.
    • Experience using radio, telephone, CAD, or digital communication systems.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
    • Ability to follow standardized protocols while exercising sound judgment in dynamic situations.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in 911 communications centers, police dispatch, fire communications, EMS dispatch, emergency operations centers, or public safety answering points (PSAPs).
    • Familiarity with Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
    • Knowledge of incident command structures and multi-agency coordination.
    • Experience documenting incident details, actions taken, and operational outcomes.
    • Training or certifications related to emergency communications, emergency management, or public safety operations.
    • Experience developing procedures, training materials, or operational guidelines.

    Compensation Structure

    • Compensation ranges from $30–$55/hour depending on project requirements and experience.
    • Independent contractor engagement.
    • Fully remote and flexible work arrangement.
    • Compensation is output-based and tied to completed project deliverables.
