Corporate Associate (2–6 PQE) - Manchester

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on complex, often cross-border M&A from a Manchester base, working with clients you'd usually associate with a London or overseas desk. The team is expanding on the back of a strong deal pipeline, so you'd be joining with live matters to get your teeth into rather than waiting for work to land.
The firm
A leading international practice, known for combining legal, commercial and regulatory expertise to solve problems most firms would need three advisers to handle. Its client base spans major corporates, financial institutions, private equity sponsors and founder-led businesses, and its M&A reputation is built on multi-jurisdictional deals rather than purely domestic work.
The Manchester office operates as a core part of the international network, so you'd have genuine access to overseas colleagues, international clients and the kind of mandates that build a serious CV.
The role
You'll run workstreams on private M&A transactions, take early responsibility for client contact, and work directly with partners who are visible and invested in developing their associates. There's scope to shape your practice as you go, whether that's towards private equity, ECM or a particular sector.
What they're looking for
- 2–6 years' PQE in corporate law, with strong private M&A experience. PE or equity capital markets exposure is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Training and experience gained at a well-regarded national, international or regional firm.
- Exposure to cross-border transactions is desirable.
- Strong academics and a track record of high-quality delivery.
- Clear communication, a collaborative instinct and the confidence to build client relationships of your own.
