How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

When a complex 5-axis machine goes down, getting it back into production quickly takes more than swapping parts – it takes someone who can diagnose the real problem and see the fix through. As a Maintenance Engineer – Machine Tools, you’ll take ownership of sophisticated, high-value machinery, combining fault finding, maintenance and hands-on mechanical work in a stable, site-based position.

You’ll be based at one client site five days a week, giving you the chance to understand the machinery inside out and become a trusted technical contact. There’s also a relocation package available if you’re considering a move for the right opportunity.

    What’s in it for you

£55,000 salary package (including 7.5 hours guaranteed overtime) plus annual bonus
    Relocation package available
27 days’ holiday plus statutory holidays
    Excellent pension and life insurance
Work with sophisticated 5-axis machinery for a recognised leader within the industry
    Your responsibilities as Maintenance Engineer

Service, maintain and repair complex 5-axis CNC milling machinery
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and machine performance faults
Complete mechanical strip-downs, inspections, repairs, rebuilds and set-up work
Assemble, set up and dismantle hydraulic, pneumatic and large mechanical assemblies
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment availability
Communicate faults, progress and corrective actions clearly while managing technical priorities independently
What we’re looking for in a Maintenance Engineer

Strong hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC milling or closely related multi-axis machinery
Proven fault-finding capability across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Experience maintaining or repairing CNC machinery within a production, manufacturing or specialist machine tool environment
Siemens controls knowledge, ideally including 840D
Mechanical engineering, machine tool or related apprenticeship/time-served training is preferred
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, plus 7.5 hours guaranteed overtime. Site-based five days per week.

If you know your way around complex 5-axis machinery and want a position where you can take real ownership of technical problems, apply today for this Maintenance Engineer position with an up-to-date CV.
