SEN Teaching Assistant

Horizon Teachers are supporting a lovely secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London, in their search for a new SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This fantastic secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London is looking for an engaging and resourceful SEN Teaching Assistant to support students across an array of subjects and year groups, with a particular focus in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
 
The nature of this SEN Teaching Assistant job will require you to work with pupils that have a variety SEN, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will need to help manage behaviour and use your initiative to support students’ wherever necessary!

What the school are looking for in their Teaching Assistants:

A Graduate with a degree from a leading UK University
Experience supporting children of a secondary age
Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs is essential
Competent in both GCSE Maths & English
Resilience and an ability to quickly create a rapport with pupils
Confident working 1:1 and within small groups of children
Be able to assist the class teacher with classroom preparation
