How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Full Time

    Location: Preston
    Start Date: Monday 2nd November
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
    Pay Rate: £14.25 - £14.95 per hour

    Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant Required - Preston

    Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Preston. This rewarding role is due to start on Monday 2nd November and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional learning and developmental needs.

    We are seeking caring, resilient, and proactive individuals who have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Applicants with transferable experience from support work, care, residential care, healthcare, or similar settings supporting children or adults with additional needs are also encouraged to apply.

    The Role

    Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
    Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions.
    Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support strategies and learning plans.
    Promote independence, confidence, and engagement within the classroom.
    Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
    Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Experience supporting children with additional needs is essential, either within a school or through a relevant support role.
    Candidates with transferable experience from care, support work, residential settings, healthcare, or community support roles will be considered.
    A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
    Ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
    A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
