How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Some children need a little extra support to feel safe, settled and ready to learn. That's where you come in.
Protocol Education is working with two welcoming primary schools in the BS31 area who are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their teams from October through to the end of the academic year.
This rewarding role is ideal for someone who can bring consistency, patience and a calm, nurturing presence to the classroom. You'll play a key part in supporting pupils who may need additional guidance with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement, helping them feel secure, valued and ready to succeed in school.
Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals and wider support staff, you'll help pupils develop positive relationships, build confidence and access learning successfully. Your day may involve providing one-to-one support, leading small group interventions, implementing behaviour strategies and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
The schools pride themselves on their supportive cultures, collaborative staff teams and commitment to pupil wellbeing. Every small success is celebrated, and your contribution will have a genuine impact on children's educational journeys.
If you're resilient, compassionate and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, we'd love to hear from you.
    Why Choose Protocol Education?
    • Flexible work that fits around you, choose where and when you work
    • Paid weekly for greater financial flexibility
    • Opportunities in local schools, reducing lengthy commutes
    • Dedicated consultants providing ongoing support and guidance
    • Simple and easy-to-use booking system
    • £250 PAYE referral bonus when you recommend a friend
    £92 - £95 per day
    Paid weekly
    A Bit About You:
    • Calm, patient and nurturing, able to support children with consistency and understanding
    • Experienced or confident working with children who may display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional support
    • Friendly, approachable and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
    • Comfortable delivering one-to-one support and small group interventions
    • Understanding of SEND and able to adapt your approach to meet individual needs
    • Resilient, reliable and able to remain positive in challenging situations
    • Passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning
What We Need To Clear You:
    • Passport / proof of right to work in the UK
    • Two proofs of address, such as a driving licence, utility bill, council tax bill or P45/P60
    • CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
    • Two years of references, including childcare references where applicable
    • Overseas Police Check if you've lived abroad for three months or more in the last five years
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
