How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A key aspect of this role is creating an inclusive classroom where barriers to learning are identified and addressed through effective teaching strategies, differentiation, and strong relationships with pupils. You will also support pupils’ social and moral development, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Assess, monitor, and record pupils’ progress, using data to inform planning and next steps
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports all learners
Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies, promoting high expectations
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, and varying abilities
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to support learning and pupil progress
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupils’ progress and well-being
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including meetings, events, and extracurricular activities where appropriate
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all pupils

    What We’re Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching RE in a secondary school setting (including ECTs are welcome to apply)
Strong knowledge of the RE curriculum and effective teaching strategies
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement
A proactive and flexible approach to working across different school settings
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
