How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Location: Sevenoaks, Kent, with travel across the UK, predominantly London & the South East
    Salary: £33,000–£36,000 depending on experience
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Spatial Dimensions is looking for an experienced Measured Building Surveyor to join our growing geospatial surveying team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about geomatics surveying, takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys being part of a professional team. You will work on a varied range of land and measured building surveys across commercial, residential, heritage and public-sector projects, giving you the opportunity to broaden your experience and continue developing your career.

    The role
As a Measured Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out topographical and measured building surveys using modern surveying equipment and technology.

Your work will include using Trimble and Leica total stations, GNSS and Leica laser scanners, as well as processing survey data and producing accurate survey information. You will also be expected to maintain high standards of health and safety, work professionally on site and provide excellent service when dealing with clients.

Strong communication skills are important, as you will regularly work with colleagues both on site and in the office, follow project instructions and liaise with clients. The role requires a flexible approach to working hours, and occasional overtime, night and weekend work may be required.

    What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with at least five years’ experience undertaking land and measured building surveys.

You should have experience processing total station observations and point cloud data, together with strong data-management skills and a methodical approach to survey capture. Experience using CAD to produce topographical or measured building survey drawings would be advantageous.

    You will also need:

A full clean UK driving licence
    A valid CSCS card
    Good IT skills
    Strong organisational and time-management skills
    Excellent attention to detail
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Previous experience working in the UK and the appropriate UK visa/right to work
A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Geospatial Surveying or a related field would be desirable, as would relevant health and safety qualifications. Membership, or eligibility for membership, of RICS, CICES or a similar professional body would also be beneficial.

    What we offer
At Spatial Dimensions, we want our surveyors to continue developing their skills and careers. We provide full training on our surveying equipment, technology and software, together with ongoing training and CPD.

Benefits include a company vehicle or car allowance, annual profit bonus, your birthday off, annual leave starting at 20 days plus bank holidays, company life insurance, pension and overtime opportunities. We also offer a structured career path and support for employees who wish to work towards professional membership of RICS or CICES.

If you are an experienced land or measured building surveyor looking for a varied role with a growing, forward-thinking surveying company, we would be delighted to hear from you
