How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Neighbourhood Housing Officer

6-Month Contract | Full time and Part time post available

Two opportunities available based on the Sussex coast : 37 hours per week & 22.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced Housing Officer who enjoys being out on patch, building relationships with residents and making a genuine difference in local communities?

We're recruiting for two Neighbourhood Housing Officers to join a busy and supportive housing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, balancing tenancy management, resident support and neighbourhood problem-solving.

    The Role

You'll manage your own neighbourhood patch, acting as a key point of contact for residents and helping to create safe, well-managed communities. No two days will be the same. One day you could be carrying out tenancy visits and estate inspections, and the next you might be supporting a vulnerable resident, investigating an ASB case or working with partner agencies to resolve a neighbourhood issue.

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    Tenancy management and tenancy sustainment
    Estate inspections and neighbourhood management
Anti-Social Behaviour and tenancy breach investigations
    Safeguarding concerns and referrals
    Resident engagement and community involvement
Partnership working with external agencies and support services
Maintaining accurate records and case managementThis is a highly visible role, with plenty of resident contact and opportunities to make a real impact.

    About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about delivering a great service to residents. You'll be confident building positive relationships, handling challenging conversations professionally and finding practical solutions to complex issues.

You'll ideally have experience in housing management, neighbourhood management, tenancy management or a similar customer-facing role. Experience dealing with ASB, tenancy sustainment, safeguarding or vulnerable residents would be advantageous, but most importantly you'll have the right attitude, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You'll be organised, resilient and comfortable managing a busy caseload while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.

    Requirements

Previous housing or tenancy management experience
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
    Good IT and record-keeping skills
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

    Interested?

Whether you're a Housing Officer, Neighbourhood Officer, Tenancy Officer or looking for your next housing management opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
