Network Security Engineer (SOC)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Network Security Engineer to join a department to assist with protecting critical systems and ensuring the security of network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Playing a key role in safeguarding the organisations network infrastructure
* Working with the SOC team on incident response and triage activity
* Designing and implementing robust security solutions to protect against threats
* Collaborating with cross functional teams, implementing changes securely
* Identifying vulnerabilities and managing security incidents
* Ensuring compliance with industry best practices
The ideal candidate would have:
* Understanding of cyber security capabilities
* Existing knowledge of Darktrace Antigena and Respond
* Strong ability to interpret complex information via use of packet capture
* Proven ability to review SOC alerting
The ideal candidate must have:
* Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching and VLANs
* Strong expertise in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls e.g. Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto
* Hands on experience in next-gen firewalls and advancing security features
* Experience in managing secure proxy solutions
* Understanding of network architectures and security zones
* In depth knowledge of security protocols
* Proficient in monitoring technologies
