Contracts Supervisor

A growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Contracts Manager or aspiring Contracts Supervisor to support the continued expansion of its operations across the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious highways or civils professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. The business is delivering a growing portfolio of infrastructure, highways and groundworks projects and is seeking someone who can grow alongside the organisation as it continues to secure additional framework and contract opportunities.

Rather than overseeing a large regional operation, this role will suit an individual looking for their first move into contract management or an established manager seeking a hands-on position within a developing business where they can genuinely make an impact.

The Role
Y
ou will be responsible for overseeing multiple live projects, supporting site teams and ensuring contracts are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Projects are typically focused on:
· Highways infrastructure
· Roads and sewers
· Section works for housing developments
· Drainage and groundworks packages
· Local authority highways schemes
· Public realm and civil engineering projects

Key responsibilities include:

· Managing two to three projects simultaneously.
· Supporting and overseeing site supervisors.
· Maintaining programme performance and project delivery.
· Managing labour, plant and resources across contracts.
· Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
· Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
· Monitoring project progress, quality and commercial performance.
· Attending site meetings and coordinating project activities.
· Supporting the continued growth of the contracts division.

About You

We are particularly interested in speaking with:

· Site Supervisors looking to step into their first Contracts Management role.
· Contracts Supervisors seeking greater responsibility and career progression.
· Existing Contracts Managers operating within smaller civil engineering businesses.

You'll ideally have experience within:

· Highways maintenance
· Infrastructure projects
· Roads and sewers
· Groundworks
· Housing infrastructure
· Local authority highways works

You should also possess:

· Strong organisational and communication skills.
· Good commercial awareness.
· A proactive and hands-on management style.
· Relevant industry qualifications and tickets.
· Full UK driving licence.
